Hi Karen,
I am not sure of the surface, but think it was glazed plaster? or it could have been ceramic...you can see a bit at the very top that I didn't cover...it was dark brown in color. It was a smooth surface.

Unique

What was the surface you used? It is a novel idea. I am going to move overseas and want to continue to make mosaics too but dread the idea of moving all my stuff.

Hi Paul, Thanks for your comments and encouragement. yes,i am a long ways from home. I have been working in Saudi Arabia for over 10 years now and get the summers off to travel... usually I come home to Canada.
The mosaic lamp was left with my friend as I couldn't bring it with me to Saudi Arabia :(
I will try and see what supplies i can find here in KSA and try some projects...I continue to research the medium in the mean time...gain more knowledge on mosaics. This is a great website to do that.

Hi Carl,

Very nice lamp! It must look beautiful when lit!
That was a nice trip, Saskatchewan Canada? A long way from Saudi Arabia!

Thanks very much for sharing. I look forward to seeing your other mosaic project.

Paul
